Your Submission Must Do Two Things
- Introduce the judge to the elements and activities of your school’s environment program; and
- Provide adequate material to cover the categories listed below
NOTE: Your submission does not need to be of elaborate presentation. A simple A4 page or two on each of the three categories will suffice
Highlight the following:
- Action taken by the school to improve or maintain school grounds or facilities with the aim of creating a more functional education facility and attractive environment;
- Emphasis placed on student and community participation; and
- Other activities including maintenance and upgrading of safety aspects of play equipment, grounds landscaping and gardening, litter prevention, murals and development of educational facilities.
Highlight the following:
- Interaction between students, staff, parents and the broader community in projects related to the improvement of the quality of:
- the students’ environmental education;
- the school’s grounds;
- any resources provided and environmentally related efforts undertaken within the local
community or district;
- and in the broader community
- Parent work within the school or in the community;
- environmentally related activities outside the school grounds;
- and the inclusion of community groups, or individuals in supporting environmental learning experiences.

Highlight the following:
- Single class or whole school programs which demonstrate a cross-curricula approach;
- Long term commitment by the school to form a sequential development of skills and attitudes in students;
- The school’s focus on creating public awareness in environmental issues; and
- Motivation through positive action and involvement of the whole school.
